Harry McCoy

SALISBURY - Harry "Randy" McCoy, 68, of Salisbury, died July 30, 2016, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Norton, Va., he was raised in Deal Island. He was the valedictorian of the class of 1965 at Deal Island High School and was a master mechanic and Service Manager in a career that spanned over 40 years at Horner Honda in Salisbury. He was a member of the American Legion Post 94 in Princess Anne, Delmarva Corvette Club, Horner Honda Rider's Club, Model Airplane Club and the Writers Block. He was an avid supporter of PBS and the Poplar Hill Mansion where he served on the Board of Directors. In 2012, he published a book, "When It Rains In Hell," which described his tour of duty in Vietnam and the lifelong effects of war. He is survived by his daughter, Christy McCoy Elzey; two brothers, Steve McCoy and Robert McCoy; and a former wife, Wanda Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edison P. and Pauline McCoy and his second wife, Lori Wanex McCoy, in 2000. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
