HOUSTON - Harry K. Lindale passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at his home. Harry was born on Dec. 4, 1929, in Milford, son of the late Harry and Clara (Moore) Lindale. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Lindale was the founder and president of Lindale's Used Autos & Parts Inc, which he started in 1957. In addition to the operations of his own business, he was employed for 16 years with Playtex in Dover and later for Service Oil, formerly H.R. Phillips, in Milford for 16 years. Harry was a life member of the Houston Fire Co. Over his many active years with the company, he served with the fire police (52-31), was a past president and vice president, and was awarded the distinction of Fireman of the Year in 1997. He was also a member of the Kent County Fireman's Assoc where he was currently a Director, a member of the American Legion Post #3 in Milford, and a member of the Blue Hen VFW Post #6483 in Milford. He was a member and on the Board of Directors of the Cedar Neck Church in Milford. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lindale was preceded in death by a brother, William Lindale. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Melvin Lindale; a son, Richard Lindale; and his special friend, Janet Carroll of Houston; a daughter, Denise Greig and her husband, Doug of Hartly; four brothers, Clifford Lindale and Jimmy Lindale, both of Milford, Gene Lindale of Fla., and Donald Lindale of Dover; two sisters, Loretta Wooten of Frederica, and Jeanette Smoots of Melbourne, Fla.; five grandchildren, Timmy Porter, Tyler Porter, Maren Schoenberger and her husband Troy, Loren Johnston, and Wyatt Carroll; two great-grandchildren, Koy Wentz, and Mia Schoenberger; and his loving puppy "Lucy". Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services with fireman's honors in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Houston Fire Company, P.O.
