Public can comment on Delaware gun-safety bills Wednesday

Posted

DOVER — The House of Representatives’ Administration Committee will hold public hearings on two gun-safety bills Wednesday.

The committee’s meeting will start at 11 a.m. in the House chamber and conclude at 1:30 p.m. to prepare for the regular legislative session.

The group will spend equal time on House Bills 450, which would ban the sale of semi-automatic guns, and 451, which would prohibit the sale of firearms to those younger than 21.

Due to these time constraints, the chair has established these guidelines to ensure as many people as possible are able to comment:

  • Each speaker has one minute to provide their comments.
  • Anyone planning to provide in-person comment should sign up in advance here by Wednesday morning at 10. Include a full name, the number of the bill you wish to speak on and your support or opposition as required.
  • Time permitting, remote comments will be taken for each bill. To provide comment in this way, dial 866-403-9129 and provide the password ADMIN when prompted.
  • Those planning to provide comment in person and over the phone are strongly encouraged to email them to housecommitteecomment@delaware.gov before the meeting. House staff will receive emailed comments until noon Thursday.

The public may view this meeting by clicking the camera icon next to the link to the meeting notice here, under the “What’s Happening” tab.
