ELLENDALE — A man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a car Thursday evening.
The Delaware State Police said a 22-year-old man from Greenwood was driving west on Beach Highway (Del. 16) around 6:04 p.m. when he collided with a car. As a 2008 Honda Accord turned left, it crossed into the motorcycle’s path.
Per police, the motorcycle, which was approaching the intersection at Webbs Road, was going at a high speed.
The motorcycle operator was ejected after the accident. He was transported to Bayhealth Sussex Campus, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Beach Highway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours while the collision was investigated.
