Grace Crawford Cannon

MILTON - Grace "Ruth" Crawford Cannon passed away on Thursday Aug. 28, 2014 at Harrison House in Georgetown, surrounded by her family. Ruth was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Rule) Crawford. She was a secretary for the DuPont Company for 10 years. She was a member of St. Michael, the Archangel, Catholic Church in Georgetown, the Milton Red Hat Club and the New Century Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Cannon in 1996; a son, Jeff Cannon and sister Mary Ann Strawbridge. She is survived by her children; Ruth Hudson and husband Charles of Georgetown, Michael Cannon and wife, Laurie of N.J., Patrick Cannon and wife Eileen of Md., and Kelly Cannon and wife Felicia of Milton; one brother Thomas Crawford of Lewes; daughter-in-law Tina Cannon of Va.; sister-in-law Dorothy Johnstone of Mich.; grandchildren Beth Anne Baker and husband Jason, Chuck Hudson and wife Amy, Sarah Ruth Hudson and husband Derrick, Ryan Cannon, Kellen Cannon, Tara Grace Cannon, Erin Cannon, Justin Cannon, Kristy Cannon, Casey Cannon, Kaitlyn Grace Cannon, Lindsay Cannon, Maggie Cannon, Colin Cannon, Rebecca Planer and husband Tom, Kenny Riedel, Sean McCarron, Chris McCarron and Caitlin McCarron; great-grandchildren, Grace Hudson, Madge Layfield, Hayden Ruth Hudson, Garth Layfield, Lucy Baker, Rose Baker, and Anne Baker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday Sept. 1, 2014 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Dr., Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton, DE. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Genesis Employees Foundation 101 East State St., Kennett Square, PA 19348 or Harrison House 110 W. North St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
