WILMINGTON — Gov. John Carney issued a third revision to Delaware’s State of Emergency declaration on Monday.
The revision authorizes the Secretary of the Delaware Department of Transportation to issue regulatory waivers for commercial motor vehicles when operating in support of a declared emergency.
Gov. Carney also on Monday formally extended the State of Emergency declaration in place to limit the spread of COVID-19. Under Delaware law, State of Emergency declarations must be renewed every 30 days.
Delaware has been under a State of Emergency since Jan. 3.
There are 411 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the latest statistics from the Delaware Division of Public Health. The state is averaging 972.4 new cases of the virus per day over the last seven days.
