SMYRNA — The Gold outscored the Blue, 160-158, in the boys’ basketball Blue-Gold All-Star Game at Smyrna High on Saturday afternoon.
The contest, which is put together by the Delaware Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association, features the top senior players in the state.
Sussex Central’s Clarence McBride-Allen finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead nine Gold players in double figures and earn the game MVP honors.
Also leading the Gold, which includes Henlopen Conference players, were Sussex Central’s Cam’Ron Purnell (17), Dover’s Dorell Little, Jr. (16) and Noah Allen (16), Middletown’s Aviyon Matthews (14), Sussex Tech’s Isaiah Ayers (12), Caesar Rodney’s Isaiah Alston (11), Smyrna’s Obinna Coleman (11) and Middletown’s Clyde Frasier (10).
Aiden Tobiason of St. Elizabeth tallied a game-high 23 points to pace the Blue with Jayden Lawrence adding 20. The Blue, which features players from New Castle County, was also led by Blair Thomas (18), Salesianum’s Isaiah Hynson (18) and Kareem Thomas (15), Jaylin Horsey (11) and Jordan Earl (10).
Tobiason also won the slam dunk contest with Lake Forest’s Jackson Starkey winning the three-point contest.
