George W. Lichtley

MILTON - George W. Lichtley, of Milton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. George was born in Pottstown, PA, the youngest of twelve children born to the late Harrison and Mary (Moser) Lichtley. He was a machinist with DANA Corporation for many years. George served and was honorably discharged from the Army during the Korean War, serving with the Military Police. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Lichtley; a daughter, Joan Elaine Lichtley; a great granddaughter, Gemma Dice; and his 11 brothers and sister. He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Weldon, of Rehoboth; five grandchildren, Stephanie Dice, Joseph Dice and wife Carrie, Elizabeth Medrano and husband Eric, Shawn Weldon and wife Blanca, Staci Weldon and husband Eric; and nine great grandchildren, Tyler and Patrick Bradford, Clayton and Jayden Wolfgram, Kaia and Landen Medrano, Bryce Weldon, Rylie and Malcom Freeman. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with visitation after 1 p.m. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Del 19963.
