CHESWOLD - George "Porky" Mosley passed away Oct. 1, 2012, in his home surrounded by his family, after a tough battle with cancer. George was born Dec. 20, 1955, in Dover to the late James E. and Dorothy Mosley. George graduated from Dover High School in 1974. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the past 30 years. Porky loved fishing, drag racing, riding his bike, but most of all spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were his heart. Anyone who came in contact with him called him "Pop." Porky was the senior of the Dark Side Riders Club, which he and his sons started along with other members who he considered family. George is preceded in death by a niece, Wanda Carney; and brother in law, Phil Kosek. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Wanda Johnson Mosley; sons, George Mosley, Jr. and his wife Autum, Derrick Mosley, Sr. and his wife Ida, Christopher Ridgeway and his wife Wendy, Shawn Ridgeway and his wife Mandy; daughter, Tanisha Seeney-Carney and her husband David; grandchildren, Trinity, Maiya, Derrick "Snaps", Takoda Mosley, Kayla, Cameron, Caroline, Maci, Jace Ridgeway, Anthony, Andrew, and Aaden "Dolomite" Carney and Jazmin Fernandez; brother, James E. Mosley, Jr. and his wife Sherren; sister, Carol Carney and her husband Sam; and a host of special nieces and nephews; two special people he loved like sons, Vern Taylor and Joshua "Gottie" Gott; a special friend he considered like a grandfather, Wayne Peace; father and mother in law, James and Connie Johnson; brother and sister in laws. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. until the service. Interment will be in Immanuel Union United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray the cost of the funeral. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
