Camden - George Everett Voshell, Sr. entered into restful peace, Wed., Mar. 25, 2015, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. George was born Jul. 18, 1935, to the late, Milton & Sadie Voshell, the first of four children. George worked for Diamond State Telephone Company, from 1953-1989. After retiring from there, he became a founding member of Paragon Contracting, Inc., with his two sons, George & Mike. He was a Sgt. First Class with the Delaware National Guard; member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxilliary; is a former Mayor of Camden; and served as president of the Camden-Wyoming Little League. George was a proud member of the Camden-Wyoming Lions Club for 40 years, holding several board positions including president & Board Member emeritus. He received many awards over the years, including the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by a sister, Frances Sampson. George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marjorie(Weeks) Voshell; three children, George E. Voshell, Jr., & his wife, Mary, of Viola; Michael Voshell & his wife, Sharon, of Magnolia; and Deborah Bryer, of St.Cloud, Minn.; a brother, Philip Voshell & his wife, Joan, of Smyrna; and a sister, Mary Ellen DeBenedictis of Clayton; and six grandchildren, Zack Bryer, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Marisa Bryer, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Alex & Emily Voshell, of Viola; Ryan Voshell & his wife, Meridith, of Atlanta, Ga.; and Eric Voshell of Magnolia. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Mon., Mar. 30, 2015, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Camden-Wyoming Delaware Lions Club Foundation, P.O.Box 246, Camden, DE 19934 or to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company Ambulance Fund, 200 East Camden-Wyoming Ave., Camden, DE 19934.
