Franklin 'Fuzzy' Rubritz, 75
DOVER - Franklin "Fuzzy" Rubritz, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in his home. He was 75. Mr. Rubritz was born March 21, 1933, in Johnstown, Pa. to the late George Rubritz and Arzella Costlow Rubritz. He worked as a millwright in Johnstown. Mr. Rubritz moved to Delaware in 1964 and worked for General Foods as a packaging machine mechanic and then group leader, retiring in 1991. Mr. Rubritz and his wife had fostered over 50 children over the years. He had raced modified race cars from 1953 to 1964 , and participated at Daytona in 1961 and 1962. He was also inducted into the Jennerstown Hall of Fame in 2006, and is in the Easton Motorsports Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh. Mr. Rubritz enjoyed traveling all over to attend various races, and especially enjoyed it when friends came to Dover to enjoy it with him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Stover Rubritz 10/31/05; his son, Dennis; siblings, PFC Thomas Rubritz, Mary Rita Daley, Eugenia Lewis, George Rubritz Jr., Francis Rubritz, and Raphael Rubritz. Mr. Rubritz is survived by his daughter, Linda Rubritz of Dover; two brothers, Jacob Rubritz of Kissimmee, Fla., and Richard Rubritz of Spring Hill, Fla. Many thanks to his wonderful caregivers, along with his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Burial will be in Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore, PA.
