DOVER - Frank Grabski of Dover, formerly of Westbury, N.Y., died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Silver Lake Center, Dover. He was 97.
Born March 24, 1910, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Wisniewska) Grabski.
Mr. Grabski was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, who proudly served in the North African theater.
He moved from Long Island, N.Y., to Dover in 1999 to be near his family.
Mr. Grabski was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He loved to travel, especially with his friends from the Dover Modern Maturity Center. He also enjoyed speed skating until the age of 75, and was a lifelong New York Mets fan.
Mr. Grabski had a natural ability to make friends where he went. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lottie; a son, Norbert; and a brother, Casmir.
Mr. Grabski is survived by a sister, Mary Waszak of Hickory Hill, N.J.; his daughters, Marian Curry and her husband Dr. Bruce Curry of Dover, and Regina Fay of New Milford, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Alison and Amanda Curry of Dover, Andrea Posey and her husband Matt of St. Louis, Jill and Timothy Fay of New Milford and Dean, Douglas and Russell Grabski, all of Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held on Long Island, and burial will be in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donation to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
Arrangements by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director Inc., Dover.
