Frank C. Bridson

DOVER - Frank C. Bridson, formerly of Laura, Ill., died at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at his residence. Frank was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Chillicothe, Ill., the son of Clarence F. and Ruth Sweetnam Bridson. Frank honorably served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a claims executive with Continental Insurance in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, and Columbus, Ohio. Since his retirement, Frank was a volunteer with the Delaware State Police. Frank was an avid bowler and participated in the Senior Olympics. He was a member of Christ Church in Dover. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Wheat Bridson; two sons, Richard of Monroe, Conn., and James of Lacey, Wash.; one sister, Ruth Harker of Upper Saddle River, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret McDonald Bridson; one brother, Thomas M. Bridson; and sister, Betty Rogge. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Brimfield Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville is in charge of arrangements.
