CAMBRIDGE - Frances L. Spear, 81, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital.

She was born in Cambridge on April 24, 1925, and was a daughter of the late John Henry and Lillie Mae Bell Niblett.

Mrs. Spear attended school in Cambridge. In 1946 she married her first husband, Brice Bramble Sr. who passed away in September of 1964. She was remarried in 1971 to Edgar B. Spear who passed away in January of 1973.

Mrs. Spear had worked at the High Spot Restaurant, then at W.T. Grant Co. and lastly at Rob Roy, where she retired.

She was an avid reader. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church, along with the Salvation Army Home League.

Mrs. Spear is survived by a son, Levin Morris Niblett Sr. and wife, Helen of Linkwood; a grandson, Levin Morris Niblett Jr. and wife, Sherri of Bucktown; a granddaughter, Lisa Niblett Herbert and husband, Allan of Woolford; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Niblett of Bucktown; a brother, Levin W. Niblett Sr. of Cambridge; three sisters, June Elzey of Cambridge, Dorothy Travers of Cambridge and Rosalie Wingate of Linkwood; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

Besides her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Henry Niblett Jr. and seven other siblings.

Pallbearers will be Edgar Wingate, Ricky Wingate, Allan Herbert, Pete Niblett, Dickie Warfield and Otis Elzey Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Capt. Richard New officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
