Four drug arrests made following Camden vehicle stop

DOVER - Four drug arrests were made Wednesday to conclude an investigation, Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

Police alleged that John Wyatte, 23, of Dover was seen taking part in a drug transaction at approximately 2:26 p.m..He then entered the back of a silver 2022 Toyota RAV4 and traveled to the Redner’s Market at 2500 South Dupont Highway in Camden.

Police said that troopers conducted a traffic stop on the Toyota in the parking lot, but the driver, Ronald Maddray, 28, of Wilmington, fled from the car on foot. Troopers gave chase and he was detained a short time later without incident.

Troopers also took Mr. Wyatte into custody, along with two other passengers Briana Winder, 21, of Dover, Marvin Farlow, 28, of Frederica.

A search of the RAV4 and the immediate surrounding area, police said, led to the discovery of crack cocaine, Oxycodone pills, buprenorphine, heroin, and marijuana, along with over $3,600 in suspected drug dealing proceeds, and two loaded handguns.

All defendants were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, tampering with evidence, second-degree conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (three counts), and possession of drug paraphernalia, among other offenses.

Ms. Winder and Mr. Farlow were each charged with two counts of possession of a firearm while in possession of a firearm.

Mr. Wyatte and Mr. Maddray were additionally charged with illegal gang participation, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. Mr. Wyatte was charged with possession of marijuana, Mr. Maddrey resting arrest.

Each defendant was arraigned by Justice of the Peace 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on cash bail. Mr. Farlow and Ms. Winder received $102,200 cash bail. Mr. Maddray $105,200 and Mr. Wyatte $104,300.
