Floyd D. Pritchett

Pritchett, 86 DOVER - Floyd D. "Dawes" Pritchett passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford. Mr. Pritchett was born April 19, 1926 in Dover to the late Claude Pritchett and Estella "Essie" Mosley Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett worked for Sears and Roebucks for over twenty-five years, did house painting for many years, and then worked for several moving companies in the area, repairing furniture. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He loved drawing and painting at the Modern Maturity Center for which he won several Blue Ribbons and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Forest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dover. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family, but they do not sorrow as others sorrow who have no hope. He is only sleeping, awaiting the Second Coming of our Lord, and the resurrection of the dead; I Thes. 4:13-18 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Greenage Pritchett; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his sons, Floyd Wayne Pritchett and his wife Ann of Hartly, and Steven Lee Pritchett of Smyrna; grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Wade, Selena, Laura and Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Dustin, Hanna, Zackery, Tyler, Anthony, and Mason; and one great-great-grandson, Hayden. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road(Rt. 10), Dover, where friends may call from noon until service time. Interment will be in the Forest Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church cemetery.
