Fire marshal’s office probe Milford house fire

MILFORD — A man is in serious condition after suffering smoke inhalation in a Sunday blaze.

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire that heavily damaged a home in the unit block of Brandywine Road in the Shawnee Acres development, said Michael G. Chionchio, assistant state fire marshal.

The Carlisle Fire Company fought the flames which were reported at 10:30 a.m. One male occupant was transported to the Bayhealth Hospital - Sussex Campus suffering from smoke inhalation. He is in serious condition, Mr. Chionchio said.

Heavy fire damage was estimated at $75,000. This investigation continues.
