CAMDEN — After a two-year absence, the 16th annual Family Emergency Preparedness Day returns Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brecknock County Park, 80 Old Camden Road. The rain date is Sept. 18.

September is National Preparedness Month, and attendees can get a wealth of resources to enhance their emergency preparedness at the family-friendly event. Exhibitors will offer interactive activities, games, promo items and safety-themed giveaways.

The first 500 people who complete an activity challenge will get a free water ice from Kona Ice.

Many agencies will be represented, but interested groups can still sign up. Volunteers are also needed. For information, email jamillya.l.scott@delaware.gov.

The event is sponsored by the Delaware Citizen Corps, the Kent County Parks & Recreation Division, the Kent County Department of Public Safety, the Delaware Emergency Management Agency and the Delaware Division of Public Health’s Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness Section.
