CAMBRIDGE - Evelyn W. Trice, 87, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Effie Willey.
Evelyn worked in the local sewing factories until her retirement. On April 5, 1947 she married Eugene A. Trice who passed away on March 6, 1997.
On the weekends, she and her husband and in-laws spent many hours fishing on the Choptank River.
She was saved in the Church of God many years ago.
Mrs. Trice is survived by a niece, Diane Wise and husband, Bill of Cambridge; granddaughters, Crystal Sawyer and Jennifer Townsend; great-grandchildren, Josh Sawyer and Justin Sawyer and Gladys Woolford, her sister-in-law and companion.
Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Trice was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Townsend; a grandson, Wayne Sawyer; two sisters, Lelia Stevenson and Gladys Landrum; a niece, Paige English and a nephew, Bernice Landrum.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery Chapel near Hurlock with the Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
