CAMBRIDGE - Evelyn Bryant, wife of the late James Bryant, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.

She was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Maryanna, Fla., daughter of the late Emma Stafford and Rufus Peterson. Evelyn moved from Florida at a very early age to Cambridge. She was employed with Rob Roy until it closed and then worked for Icelandic Corp. (Coldwater) until her retirement.

Evelyn devoted her life to serving Jehovah on April 15, 1973. She loved witnessing and meeting new people in the ministry. She was especially fond of Bible study.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Nathaniel Keene (Janie), Cambridge; a daughter, Cynthia Carter (McKinley), Annapolis; six grandchildren, Tiffany Carter, Otis Keene, Mario Sampson, Christy Keene, Daryl Keene and Josephine Manokey; three great-grandchildren, Pierre, Paris and Mario; a sister, Catherine Stewart (Christopher) Carmichael; a brother, Louis Peterson, Albany, Mich.; nieces, Roseann Chester, Cambridge, Barbara Wing, New Castle, Del. and Alpha Wing, Baltimore; a nephew, Robert Adams, Baltimore, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Dorothy Adams; a nephew, Larry Adams and two nieces, Jean and Phyllis.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall, 2616 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. There will be a viewing Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge.
