DOVER - Evelyn Barker of Town Point, Dover passed away Wednesday May 8, 2013 at home. She was 85. Mrs. Barker was born in Harrisburg, Pa. on Sept. 20, 1927 to the late Harry David Wilson and Mabel Rosa Maurer Wilson. She graduated 3rd in her class with honors at Middletown High School. She retired after 32 years of Civil Service, with 25 years as Secretary to Commander in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) at Dover Air Force Base. Mrs. Barker had also worked for Delaware State College: Department of Physics and Astronomy, as a Technical Secretary from May 1985-August 1996. She enjoyed skating, dancing, bowling, and most of all, her cats. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband, Vernon L. Barker in 1997 and her daughter, Terry Barker in 1976 whose birthday is also May 14. She is survived by her daughters, Carol R. Barker of Winthrop Harbor, Ill and Laurie Ann Barker and her husband Ron Perry of Seattle, Wash. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Lakeside Cemetery, 558 N.
