CLAYTON - Ervin L. Yost went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sun., Feb. 22, 2015 at his home in the loving presence of his family. He had been lovingly cared for by family members, especially his wife, Genevieve, and his granddaughter, Becky Payton. Mr. Yost was born Aug. 31, 1929 near Mannington in his beloved state of W. Va. He was the son of the late Roy and Hattie Yost. He served our country for 20 years, first in the U.S. Navy and then transferring to the U.S. Air Force from which he retired. He worked for Clement's Supply Co. in Clayton and then later at International Playtex in Dover from which he retired. He attended Smyrna Wesleyan Church where at one time he and his wife were youth group leaders. He also had served on the church board. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and did a bit of woodworking. He was an avid Eagles fan. More recently he enjoyed watching westerns on his TV and sitting out on his porch swing weather permitting. He enjoyed having his family around him and was a beloved grandfather to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katholeen Fluharty; and his brother Royal Yost. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Genevieve; his daughter, Sharon Y. Cahall (Jim) of Smyrna; his daughter, Brenda Thompson (Carlton) of Clayton; his daughter, Linda Buckson (Larry) of Magnolia, Texas; his son, Eddie Yost (Isabel) of Seaford; and his daughter, Johanna Yost, of Houston; twelve grandchildren, Becky Payton, Jamie Cahall, Michael Cahall, Jessica Scott, April Balcerak, Bucky Buckson, Michelle Buckson, Larry Buckson, Craig Yost, David Yost, Christina Yost, and Brittny Yost; and 30 great-grandchildren.
