FREDERICA - Ernest W. Boyer passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 79. Ernest was born on November 25, 1934 in Wilmington, son of the late Ernest and Gladys (Simpson) Boyer. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force where he retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and later worked for NAPA in Middletown where he also retired. Ernest enjoyed fishing, remote control airplanes and trains. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Olivia Boyer; three sons, Ernest W. Boyer, Jr. of Ocean City, Md., Andrew Boyer and Steven Boyer both of Dover, five grandchildren; a sister, Mary Williams of Middletown; and a niece, Debra Hanna of Smyrna. Services were private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association of Delaware, 422 S. Governor's Ave., Dover, DE 19904.
