Eric John Parry, 33

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Eric John Parry, 33, of East Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Eric graduated from East Kentwood High School in 1992, and was a graduate of The University Of Michigan - class of 1997 as an economics and finance major. He was an accomplished broker, market analyst and currency trader, and most recently worked in real estate.

Eric was a seasoned sailor; he had skied the Swiss Alps, traveled throughout Europe, and had hiked through the American Southwest. He enjoyed great food and music, fixing all things, and he always found the time to help anyone at a moment's notice.

Eric loved his family and friends; he loved to laugh and to live life passionately in everything he did, but most of all he loved his best friend and mother, Wendy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Weldon and Mary Ann Thomas.

He is survived by his father, Albert Parry Jr.; mother- Wendy (Steve Dykman) Parry; grandparents- Albert Sr. and Rebecca Parry; aunts- Kimberly Parry, Lola Ann Jones, Gloria Thomas; uncles- Tim (Patty) Parry; nephews- Adam, Matthew, David; several great-aunts and uncles, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE. (616-866-7200).

The family will greet relatives and friends today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
