DOVER - Emma Shaughnessy formerly of Dover, died on April 14, 2015 in Kennett Square, Pa. She was the beloved wife of the late CMSGT James M. Shaughnessy (+1972); mother of Richard (Joanne) Shaughnessy of Cicero, N.Y., Annamaria (Tony) Fattarsi of Helena, Mont. and Robert (Gina) Shaughnessy of Kennett Square, Pa.; grandmother of Patrick Shaughnessy, Jennifer Dellamorte Emmett, Lauren and Spencer Fattarsi, Ryan and Rebecca Shaughnessy; Great grandmother of Lucas and Jacob Haire, Emma Rose Dellamorte and step-great grandchildren Anthony and Alex Flores. After Jimmy's death in 1972, Emma remained in Dover for the next 35 years working at the Dover Air Force Base Cleaners and later for the Modern Maturity Center, delivering Meals on Wheels. She became close friends with many Italian women who were the joy of her life. In 2007, she moved to Kennett Square, Pa. to live closer to her son, Robert. Emma and family were able to visit their Italian relatives each year when living in Europe, and Emma continued to visit on a yearly basis after Jimmy's death. Emma was an extremely social and outgoing woman, with a strong Italian accent, who enjoyed parties and dancing, Holy Rosaries, and opera, especially the music of Pavarotti. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 Condolences to
