EASTON - Elwood Maurice "Chubby" Greene, 50, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at the Memorial Hospital at Easton.
He was born July 22, 1956, in Oxford, son of the late Elwood Edward Pinder and Dorothy Elizabeth Greene
Chubby or Chubbola, as he was affectionately called, attended the public schools in Talbot County and was a graduate of Easton High School. He was employed with several companies within the area. A previous job was with Courier Express in Easton.
In his high school years he played many sports which included track, swimming and basketball. He was first runner up on the track team. Because of his athletic ability, when he was in the 10th grade his mother was asked could he attend Towson State University and participate in the athletic program. While at Towson State University, he received three gold medals in each sport, track, swimming and basketball.
Mr. Greene is survived by five sisters, Evangeline Hollis of Trappe, Brenda Hill of Oxford, Jeanette Pinder of Salisbury, Vickie Greene of Easton, and Pamela Pinder of Baltimore; three brothers, Hubert Greene of Trappe, Glen Pinder of Georgia and Kevin Pinder of Baltimore; an uncle, James Hunter of Easton; two brothers-in-law and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Terrence Greene preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, at Waters UM Church in Oxford, with a viewing held one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Henry Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge.
