SALISBURY - Elmer Rufus "Mike" Messick of Salisbury and formerly of Crisfield, died Saturday August 6, 2022 at the home of his niece, Barbara Klempner.
Born in Crisfield on November 11, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Hattie Nelson Messick. He worked at Messick Ice Plant in his younger years and enjoyed gardening. He also attended Crisfield Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by a sister, Hattie "Cookie" Newby of VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his significant other, Frances Paul; and his brothers and sisters, Jerry Messick, Ethel Travers, Beatrice Harris, William Messick, John Riley Messick, Jeanie Coggin, and Jackie Kidd.
Funeral services were Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing was held one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bob Daniels officiated. Interment followed in Asbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are wished to be made to Go Getters, Inc., 208 East Main Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
