ELLENDALE — The community will hold a chicken barbecue fundraiser Oct. 29 in celebration of a long but successful campaign for clean water.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, 18211 Beach Highway. It is sponsored by the Ellendale Community Civic Improvement Association.

In addition to chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks for sale, Beebe Healthcare will be on hand to administer COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, plus flu shots.

Support is appreciated as the association begins its next project: having 10 house trailers renovated.

Chicken platters will be sold for $10 and include baked beans, chips and a drink. Kids’ platters are $6, with hot dogs and hamburgers for $1 each.

Donations will also be accepted.
