HARRINGTON - Elizabeth M. Kauffman went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at her home in Harrington. Elizabeth was born April 5, 1928 to the late Milton Lewis and Savannah Bender Swartzentruber. She graduated from Milford Memorial School of Nursing in 1952 as a registered nurse and worked as a nursing supervisor. She was a member of Greenwood Mennonite Church and taught Sunday School there. She loved to cook and sew. She had been a caregiver for her parents and her mother-in-law. She truly had a servants heart. She cherished her children and all her grandchildren. She also loved singing, especially hymns. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Willard Kauffman; two brothers, Valentine and Milton Swartzentruber; and a sister, Caroline Mast. She is survived by her children, Richard and Janet Kauffman, Judy and Rick Holleger, Grace and Kevin Scott, Willard and Tammi Kauffman, all of Harrington, and Arthur and Sue Kauffman of Rhodesdale, Md.; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two on the way; two brothers, Lewis and John Mark Swartzentruber both of Greenwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held at Greenwood Mennonite Church, Greenwood/Milford Road, Greenwood, DE on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and again on Sunday Nov. 3, 2013 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. with the burial in the church cemetery following the viewing. Memorial service will be held at the church Sunday at 4 p.m. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St, Greenwood.
