MILFORD - Elizabeth Evelyn "Beth" Keyek, of Milford, died Monday, May 13, 2008, at home. She was 35.
Beth was born in New Jersey, daughter of the late John M. and Joan A. (Hess) Keyek.
She worked as a boat's mate in the crabbing and conching industry for Rick Watkins, sailing out of South Bowers Beach to fish the Delaware Bay.
Rick and Beth were also close friends and enjoyed spending time together outside of work, watching and attending women's basketball, especially the University of Delaware and the WNBA games.
She also worked at GNC in Milford as a part-time retail clerk.
Beth loved animals. She was quite active with the Tri-State Bird Rescue and took in and cared for stray cats whenever she could.
Beth is survived by two sisters, Karen Davis and her husband Harry of Argo's Corner and Elaine and Howard O'Neal of Lincoln; two brothers, John and Beverly Keyek of Harrington and Steve and Dawn Keyek of Lincoln; one niece, Chelsea Keyek; six nephews, Kyle Davis, Kevin O'Neal, Josh Keyek, Zach Keyek, Logan Keyek and Tyler Keyek; a grandniece, Jadyn Sample; and her close friend and companion, Carson Kennard of Lincoln.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Milford Moose Lodge, 20142 Beaver Dam Road, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Spreading Our Wings Capital Campaign Fund, Attn. Rebecca Elzey, Director of Development, 110 Possum Hollow Road, Newark, DE 19711.
