MILTON- Elizabeth J. "Betty Jean" Warrington passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the Delaware Hospice Center. Betty Jean was born in Milford, daughter of the late Harry R. and Mildred (Spicer) Jefferson. She had worked for many years for Goff's IGA. Betty Jean was a member of Goshen U.M. Church and Milton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, photography and traveling. She also graduated with a perfect attendance record. In addition to her parents, Betty Jean is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Warrington, III. She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Ethel Warrington of Clayton, Michael and Sue Warrington of Milton, David and Gerri Warrington of Lincoln, Dale and Debbie Smith of N.H., and Jason and Lisa Wedding, of Denton, Md.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Gilroy; two brothers, Charles and Kenny Jefferson; and her special friend, Charlie Hayes of Smyrna. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Goshen U.M. Church, 103 Mulberry Street, Milton, with visitation Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton. Burial will be in Slaughter Neck Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
