'Betty Frances' Hearn, 82 GEORGETOWN - Elizabeth F. 'Betty Frances" Hearn of Georgetown passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mrs. Hearn was born in New Church Va., the daughter of the late Martin S. and Mildred (Covington) Pettit. Mrs. Hearn was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, The Sussex Countian newspaper, and most recently The Georgetown Presbyterian Church, where she was church secretary, organist, and choir member. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin R. Hearn; her brother, M. Royston Pettit; and sister in law, Margie Pettit. In addition to her brother, Edward C. Pettit of Georgetown, she is survived by her three children, Ruth H. Paugh and her husband Richard, Sr. of Georgetown, Michele A Fletcher and her husband, Harry, Jr. of Georgetown, and Michael R. Hearn and his wife Dr. Laurie Gordy of Nashua, N.H.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday Feb. 4, 2013 at Georgetown Presbyterian Church 203 N. Bedford St., immediately followed by a reception in Tunnell Hall where friends may visit with the family. Burial will be private at Nelson's Cemetery in New Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgetown Presbyterian Church, P.O Box 46, Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements handled By Short Funeral Services Georgetown.
