HURLOCK - Elenora Green Williams, formerly of Hurlock, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2011, at The Pines, Easton. Mrs. Williams, 88, born June 17, 1922. She was married to Rev. Joseph W. Williams, Jr. Mrs. Williams was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Preston. Mrs. Williams was educated in the Dorchester County Public Schools. After studying music at Delaware State College (University), she became a licensed Cosmetologist in Caroline County and later worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk at Preston 151 Trucking Company in Preston. She is survived by her husband, Rev Joseph W. Willams Jr. of Baltimore; one son, Gary Green (Ellen) of Trappe; three step-children, John Williams (Christine), Showell Williams and Viola Moore (Bruce), all of Baltimore; four grandchildren, Gary Green, Jr., Brianne Green, Gemya Green, Jaedyn Green, all of Easton; four step-granddaughters, Caryn Moore, Marcia Jones, Monica Williams, Nicole Williams, all of Baltimore; eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Mamie M. Stanley of Hurlock, and Janet Moore, of Mechanicsville; two step-sisters, Rosie Johns and Alyce Johns of Philadelphia; and one sister-in-law, Alice Davis, of Fruitland; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Family and friends will honor Elenora Green Williams in celebration at Hurlock United Methodist Church, today, April 1, 2011, at noon. A one hour viewing will take place before the celebration. A viewing also took place Thursday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church, Preston. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery, Hurlock. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Hurlock. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com.
