Elaine Janet Ferguson

MAGNOLIA, Del. - Elaine Janet Ferguson formerly of Hatboro, Pa., went home to be with the Lord with her family and friends by her side on Monday, April 8, 2013 at home. She was born Sept. 6, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Howard A. Williard and Julia Thomas Williard. Mrs. Ferguson graduated from Frankford High School in 1964 and grew up in the Kensington section on Philadelphia. Mrs. Ferguson spent most of her life in Hatboro and had worked for the Upper Moreland School District for 23 years as the librarian's secretary. She had also been a member of the Lehman United Methodist Church in Hatboro and belonged to the Rebecca Circle for 40 years. After moving to Magnolia they became members of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover and joined the Barbara Circle. Mrs. Ferguson had taught Sunday school for 25 years. She had been past worship committee chairman of Huntington Valley United Methodist Church, Hunting Valley, Pa. Mrs. Ferguson was an avid Phillies fan and reader. She enjoyed making cards, knitting and especially loved being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Ferguson, Jr. of Magnolia; daughter, Deborah Barbour (Jon) of Three Oaks, Mich; sons, Thomas D. Ferguson (Linda) of Bell Glade, Fla., and R. Andrew Ferguson (Faith) of Telford, Pa.; sister, Eileen Elliott (William) of Bensalem, Pa.; sister-in-laws, Carole A. Ferguson (Connie Mohn) of Millington, Md., Gerri Yollin (Mitchell) of Mays Landing, N.J.; grandchildren, Paige and Jacob Barbour, and Phoebe Ferguson. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Lehman United Methodist Church, 300 S. York Road, Hatboro, Pa. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to "Autism Project of Palm Beach County", and mailed to APPBC, 5800 Corporate Way, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
