Eighth-offense DUI arrest made in Seaford

SEAFORD — Brian Thomas, 54, of Laurel, was arrested for an eighth-offense DUI and other charges following a crash investigation Wednesday, Delaware State Police said.

According to authorities, Mr. Thomas was driving a Mazda Tribute that struck a GMC Acadia stopped at a red light at the intersection of Sussex Highway and Concord Road at approximately 3:57 p.m. DSP said the Tribute departed the scene and was later stopped by troopers.

Mr. Thomas showed signs of impairment, police said, and a DUI investigation ensued. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

There were no injuries in the crash.

Along with DUI, the suspect was charged with numerous traffic offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on $10,004 secured bond.
