Edna M. Miller

CAMBRIDGE - Edna M. Miller, 91, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Baltimore on Oct. 31, 1920, and was a daughter of the late Frank Lester and Florence Condon Schaffner. In her earlier years, she was a teacher's aide. Later, she was a homemaker and a foster care provider for over 25 years. She was married to John Ralph Miller, who passed away on November 20, 2007. Mrs. Miller enjoyed writing, reading, being with people and had a love for animals. She is survived by a son, Steven Miller of Cambridge; three daughters, Patricia Knox and husband John of Cambridge, Lana Parker and husband David of Georgetown, Del., and Wendy Wright and husband Jim of Cambridge; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by a son, R. Leslie Miller. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Open Bible Church with Rev. David Wooten officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Open Bible Church, 1619 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
