Earl S. Harrington

LAUREL - Earl S. Harrington, Jr. died Sat., Apr. 25, 2015 at his home. He was the son of the late Earl S. Harrington Sr. and Nina Hicks Harrington, and was a 1954 graduate of Delmar High School. He was an outstanding football player for the Wildcats. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work for the DuPont Co. in Seaford, and also spent many years farming. He was a member of the Sharptown Lions Club and the Sharptown Fire Department. He spent many years volunteering at the drink stand at the carnival grounds in Sharptown. He was like a second father to many of his nieces and nephews, and will be remembered for being a wonderful brother and uncle. He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Dickerson of Sharptown, Shirley Forse of Delmar, and Mary Jane Davenport of Delmar; three nieces; five nephews; and other great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service was held on Apr. 29, 2015, at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment followed at Firemen's Cemetery in Sharptown.
