Snyder, 82 DOVER - Earl Joseph "Joe" Snyder, age 82, of Dover, passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 17, 2015. Joe was born in Preston County, W. Va. on May 28, 1933 and was a graduate of West Virginia University. Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force for 27 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1985. Following his Air Force service, he was employed by the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, Masonic Lodge, Alumni of West Virginia University and The Retired Officers Association. Joe enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, gardening, and NASCAR. Joe will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Snyder; their children, Deb Snyder of Carson City, Nev., Blair Snyder and wife Allison of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Brian Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Sue Cooke of Dover; his brother, Glenn and wife Helen of Morgantown, W.Va.; his grandchildren, Mike Snyder and wife Gillian of Fort Wayne, Ind., Jessica and fiancé Ben Briles, Andrew and Connor Snyder of Berlin, Md., Hannah and Adam Snyder of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Billy Cooke of Dover; and his five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mabel Snyder; and his sister, Patty Messenger. A funeral service will be 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where there will be a viewing from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be Thursday in Masontown, West Virginia.
