DSHS moves operations to new facility

Posted

DOVER — To meet expansion needs, the Delaware Department of Safety and Homeland Security has moved operations from a facility on Starlifter Avenue to a site at 600 S. Bay Road, Suite 1.

“The move into the new facility is the result of planning that began more than two years ago,” according to spokesman Sgt. Darren Lester of the Delaware State Police, which is overseen by DSHS.

“This new facility allows DSHS and DSP to consolidate several services and programs into one location, while accommodating the need for growth, creating more efficient workspaces and utilizing new technology developments,” he added.

The new space will be occupied by Delaware Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement, the Delaware Division of Gaming Enforcement (both regulatory departments), the Delaware State Bureau of Identification and DSP support services.

The facility will also provide a large classroom for in-service training, meetings and testing, Sgt. Lester said.
