Drug charges follow Lincoln traffic stop

LINCOLN - Tiant Handy, 23, of Lincoln, and Thomas Finney, 21, of Milton, were arrested on weapon and drug charges following a Thursday night traffic stop, police said.

Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said Mr. Handy was driving when stopped on West Clogg Drive at approximately 10:25 p.m. for a registration violation.

A trooper saw a partially concealed handgun in the vehicle, police said. Mr. Handy and Mr. Finney were taken into custody without incident.

Two loaded Smith & Wesson handguns and approximately one gram of marijuana were found in the vehicle, police said.

Mr. Handy was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while possessing a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, possession of marijuana, and expired tags. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $8,250 unsecured bond.

Mr. Finney was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned by JP Court 3 and released on $6,000 unsecured bond.
