Dr. Robert W. Kidd III

WYOMING - Dr. Robert "Bob" W. Kidd III, passed away early Sunday, March 4, 2012, in his home in Wyoming. Born in Wilmington, and raised in Penns Grove, N.J., he was the son of the late Robert W. Kidd II and Pauline Nocon Kidd of Penns Grove, N.J. He was a 1958 graduate of Tower Hill School and graduated from Coe College in 1961. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1965 and after completing an internship at Wilmington General Hospital, he served his preceptorship with Drs. Tjerland and Krieger in Wilmington. Dr. Kidd began his private Orthodontic practice in Dover in 1970 and maintained a practice in both Dover and Milford up until his untimely passing. Dr. Kidd was an active member in the dental communities and had served as a director and past-chair of the board of directors at the First National Bank of Wyoming. He was also a member of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, and was an active Rotarian. Dr. Kidd was an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, Delaware State Society of Orthodontics, and the Kent-Sussex Dental Society. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed having fun on the water, and especially cherished the time spent with his family. Bob was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by the countless lives he touched and especially by those who knew and loved him. Besides his mother, Bob leaves his loving wife of over 40 years, Janet Caputo Kidd of Wyoming; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Kidd of Richmond, Va.; his three beautiful grandchildren, Catherine, Robert, and John Kidd, all of Richmond, Va.; brother, John Kidd of Penns Grove, N.J.; and sister, Sandra Poehling of Winston Salem, N.C. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation starting at 9 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Donations in his memory can be made to Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Condolences and Guest Book Signings may be made via www.ambruso.com. Life's End Services are by Michael J.
