SEAFORD - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Jack Leon Dilts, on Sept. 20, 2012. He is survived by his wife Deborah; his children Kristopher Dilts, Kelsey Dilts McGregor; and grandson, Rowan Jack Dilts McGregor. Jack was born on October 18, 1945 in Ithaca, Michigan. He was a dedicated athlete and played basketball and football in high school and college. He met his wife Debbie in 1967 at Grand Valley State University; they were married for 43 years. His career in medicine included past Director of Medical Education/Intern Training at Carson City Hospital, past President of the Central Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians, past Chairman of Carson City Hospital's Department of Surgery, and Medical Director of Occupational Health At Milford Memorial Hospital. Most recently he was splitting his time between serving as the Occupational Health Director and a panel physician of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at Nanticoke Hospital Health Services in Seaford, Delaware. Jack loved his family, friends and neighbors and was an active member in his community. He served on the Carson City-Crystal school board for many years, coached his children and their teammates in sports, and loved woodworking and travel. Throughout his life, Jack loved helping others. He was a generous man and embraced giving to others in times of need as well as offering simple acts of kindness anonymously. His generous spirit is also reflected in his wish to be an organ donor, helping as many as 50 other individuals Donations can be directed to Nanticoke Health Services, 121 S. Front Street, Seaford, DE 19973. "In memory of Dr. Jack Dilts" noted on any contributions is greatly appreciated. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton, DE.
