DOVER — The Modern Maturity Center has announced that it will be honoring the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act Nutrition Programs by participating in a March for Meals celebration.

Next month, MMC will partner with the national Meals on Wheels network to raise awareness for its initiative, which provides seniors services to keep them healthy and independent.

MMC will hold various events in March as a part of the celebration, including:

• March 15, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — “Celebrate a World of Flavors.” MMC will recognize cultural heritage, traditions and recipes to appreciate diversity. International prepared meals will be available.
• March 24 — During Community Champions Week, local and state leaders will deliver and pack meals for older adults to see the impact of Meals on Wheels.
