Posted

DOVER — A 59-year-old Dover woman died Sunday from injuries suffered in a crash involving a police vehicle last week.

Loreen Miller died at a New Castle County hospital while receiving treatment for injuries suffered in the crash Wednesday.

Police said Ms. Miller was driving a Chevrolet Camaro that was struck by a Dover Police Department vehicle while trying to turn from South Little Creek Road onto Signal Street at approximately 7:59 a.m.

The officer involved in this collision is a four-year-veteran of the Dover Police Department and is a member of the Patrol Division. Consistent with standard practice for all incidents associated with a death where an officer is involved, the officer has been placed on administrative leave, with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Dover Police Department said it will continue to gather the facts of this case and requests that anyone with information contact Cpl. Kody Frye at 302-736-7122 ext. 621.
