DOVER — An 18-year-old Hartly man was charged with weapons offenses following a traffic stop on Monday night, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.
At approximately 9:03 p.m., police said officers contacted Alvin Cunningham who was stopped facing the wrong direction in the 300 Block of Fulton Street. During the stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car, police said.
Mr. Cunningham was detained without incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a 12-gauge shotgun concealed between the seats, brass knuckles and 66 grams of marijuana, police said.
Mr. Cunningham was charged with possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, carrying a concealed dangerous instrument, possession of marijuana, and a traffic violation. He was released on an own recognizance bond.
