DOVER — A 33-year-old Dover man was charged with murder following an investigation into a stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning.
According to Delaware State Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto, at approximately 4:10 a.m., troopers responded to the Planters Run apartment complex regarding a stabbing incident. Upon their arrival, troopers contacted a 33-year-old man in a vehicle in the parking lot who was suffering from stab wounds, police said.
The man was transported from the scene to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Cpl. DeMalto said an investigation determined that the man had been involved in a dispute in the parking lot with a person later identified as Robert Webb-Asare. Police said Mr. Webb-Asare stabbed the man during the confrontation.
Mr. Webb-Asare allegedly fled the scene into a residence before police arrived. He was later located by detectives and taken into custody without incident.
Mr. Webb-Asare was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,060,000 cash bond.
