DOVER — Recardo Weatherspoon, 55, was arrested on attempted-burglary charges Sunday following an incident at his workplace, Fraizer’s Restaurant & Bar, said Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman.
Officers responded to the restaurant, 9 E. Loockerman St., for a reported burglary at 10:17 a.m. Sunday.
Sgt. Hoffman said Mr. Weatherspoon entered the business through a kitchen door, while employees were inside. He then hid inside the walk-in refrigerator until the restaurant was closed and all employees left.
The suspect subsequently broke a door to the management office and attempted to break into a safe containing cash but was unsuccessful, police said. He then fled on foot, and officers located him Sunday afternoon, arresting him without incident.
Mr. Weatherspoon faces charges of attempted third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, attempted theft and criminal mischief. He was released on $2,750 unsecured bond.
