DOVER — A 55-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, both Dover residents, are facing weapon charges following an investigation.
Dover police spokesman Ryan Schmid said that officers were assisting Delaware Probation and Parole with a firearms investigation involving the teen. At 7:28 p.m. Tuesday, he was contacted in a vehicle driven by Crystal Chatman in the 1000 block of North DuPont Highway, and officers located two firearms in the car following a search, police said.
Ms. Chatman was charged with two counts each of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon, as well as second-degree conspiracy. She was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, New Castle, on $17,500 secured bail.
The 16-year-old was charged with two counts each of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon, plus second-degree conspiracy.
He was committed to the Stevenson House Detention Center, Milford, on $82,000 secured bail.
