DOVER — The McDonald's, located at 879 N Dupont Hwy. across Rt. 13 from Delaware State University, has reopened.

The fully redesigned and rebuilt restaurant lobby features new self-order kiosks, digital menu boards, contemporary décor and new seating. Additionally, upon entering the lobby’s entrance a newly-installed McDelivery pick-up window has been added for prompt, efficient service for McDelivery drivers.

“Since I acquired six restaurants in the Dover market, my priority has been to make upgrades and improvements both inside and outside the restaurants wherever possible,” owner and oerator Michael Meoli said in a prepared statement. “At The Meoli Companies, we’re dedicated to building and maintaining the best restaurants and delivering a gold-standard experience for our customers. This new lobby is one of the ways we are delivering on that promise.”

To celebrate the grand re-opening, the community is invited to attend the grand re-opening event on Saturday, July 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will feature a $1.99 Hotcakes Platter special, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.; on-site entertainment from Froggy 99.9 radio; and visits from members of the DSU Hornets coaching staff and teams.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on July 10 through 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, customers who visit the new McDonald’s lobby can enter for a chance to win one of two pairs of Delaware State University football tickets, plus one free large McDonald’s sandwich each week for one year. The two winners will be drawn at random at 4 p.m. on July 17 and will be notified by phone to claim their prize.
