DOVER — Trevor Jenkins, 32, of Dover, was arrested for possessing an AR-15 rifle Wednesday, authorities said.
According to Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman, officers learned that Jenkins, who was on probation, had the firearm at a residence at White Oak Condos, 1001 White Oak Road. Delaware Probation and Parole obtained a search warrant for the residence, and Jenkins was taken into custody without incident at the Probation and Parole office during a routine check-in, police said.
Besides the rifle, five magazines and several rounds of ammunition were located, Sgt. Hoffman said.
Jenkins was charged with possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited (two counts) and violation of probation. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $20,000 cash bond.
